Primary Sport

St Margaret's Primary School competes in a primary interschool competition referred to as Andrews Cup, along with nine other schools. The competition includes ten sports and sporting events are held during the school week as listed below.

Andrews Cup Sports are available for:

- Girls in Years 2 to 6 can participate in athletics, swimming, cross country and gynmastics

- Years 4 to 6 can participate in netball, tennis, touch football, soccer, cricket and basketball

Club Netball

Club Netball is a fantastic program available to St Margaret's primary students who are turning seven years old and in Year 2 and above. Over 180 girls participate in the Downey Park Netball Association Competition each year. All girls who trial for teams are assigned to a team of like ability students. Throughout the netball season, the Downey Park Netball Association provides opportunities for girls to represent the association at Netball Queensland events.

Club Water Polo

Water polo is a popular and competitive sport. Participation is open to students in Years 4 to 12 and is conducted within the Brisbane Water Polo Association Inc. (BWPI) through Water Polo Queensland.



St Margaret's primary students can participate in swimming through our Learn to Swim program and Swimming Club.
