The St Margaret's Astronomy Club aims to promote astronomy to the whole school community and provide members with the ability to view and learn about the wonders of the solar system and the universe beyond. The Club holds regular events for members including onsite viewing evenings and presentations by staff and guest speakers including the school's Astronomer in Residence, Dr Stephen Hughes. The club also conducts one or two offsite viewing events each year to allow members to view the night sky away from the city lights. Active student club members are eligible for the Anderson Family Astronomy Prize presented on Speech Night.

Membership is open to students from Years 5-12, current parents and staff. Additional information and membership enquiries can be directed to Mr David Graham at
