Changes to Childhood Immunisation Requirements

From 1 January 2016, there will be changes to the childhood immunisation requirements. Under the new laws your child's immunisation status may affect your family's eligibility for CCS (Child Care Subsidy) at a childcare service.

Any changes to your CCS (Child Care Subsidy) will be processed by Centrelink and changes will automatically be updated to your account. St Margaret's OSHC will not be able to reinstate CCS (Child Care Subsidy) that has been cancelled by Centrelink and it will be necessary for you to contact Centrelink directly.

St Margaret's OSHC require all parents to provide an updated copy of their child's immunisation history statement or exemption letter as a part of the enrolment process for existing and new families. This is a regulatory requirement for all childcare services and is also for the health and safety of all children and staff. We ask that all families provide a current immunisation history statement or exemption letter for each child by 27 February 2016. We would like to thank those parents who have already provided this to date.

If you require more information regarding the new laws and how they will affect your family, please feel free to visit www.immunise.health.gov.au or www.humanservices.gov.au.

Enrolment, Bookings and Payment

To ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children we must arrange staffing so that child: staff ratios are in accordance with National Standards. Bookings therefore, whether permanent or casual, are essential.

Please log in to the My Family Lounge to book your required days or to enrol. If booking session has closed please email oshc@stmargarets.qld.edu.au.

St Margaret's OSHC accounts are payable by direct debit from your chosen bank account or credit card by Debitsuccess. We are unable to accept your booking until a completed enrolment and Debitsuccess form is received by the OSHC Coordinator via the My Family Lounge.

Important Information about our service

St Margaret’s Outside School Hours Care is approved to provide education and care primarily to children over preschool age. At least 60% of children being provided education and care at the service must be over preschool age. If you have a child enrolled in the St Margaret's Pre-Prep program and require before school care, after school care or vacation care, please contact Palu Ingram at oshc@stmargarets.qld.edu.au to discuss availability.

Cancellation Policy

If your child is not able to attend OSHC as arranged, please advise as soon as possible and at least 48 business hours in advance in writing to oshc@stmargarets.qld.edu.au or by phoning 0423 547 653. Fees will not be charged for non-attendance if 48 business hours or more notice is given. Notification is also important for safety reasons and to prevent time being spent looking for a child who is not present.

Once a booking is made for school holidays and the program is confirmed to go ahead, unfortunately we are unable to accept cancellations once you have made a booking. With the exception of excurison and incursion days, we are however happy to change the date of your booking. Changes to your current booking must be made within 48 hours of booking date.

Excursions and incursions are set out in the program which is issued at least 3 weeks before school holiday period. Once booked, excursions and incursions are not able to be cancelled as we have in many cases prepaid for these activities.

Healthy Food Menu

Nutrition is a core part of our program. We understand children require a tasty breakfast and afternoon tea with a good balance of fresh food and fresh diary. A healthy snack will be provided for all children, which may include sandwiches, crackers, cheese, corn/rice thins, yoghurt, custard, fruit and vegetables. Families of children with specific dietary needs are asked to speak with the OSHC Coordinator to ensure an appropriate menu can be provided that is inclusive of all children.

Changes to Child Care Subsidy

Australia introduced a new Child Care Package, which commenced 2 July 2018. Under the new package, the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) replaced the existing Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate.

CCS will be the main way the Government assists families with their child care fees. Please refer to www.education.gov.au/new-child-care-package-families-2-july-2018 for further information.
