Speech and Drama

The St Margaret’s Private Speech and Drama program is designed to develop communication, presentation and performance skills in a fun, supportive environment. The program caters for students in Years 2 to 12 -from those who love the spotlight to those who experience a little stage fright.

Our Speech and Drama students explore:
drama
mime
improvisation
poetry
prose
public speaking

and develop:
imagination
confidence
clear speech
vocal and facial expression
a love of literature.

Depending on their year level, students participate in lessons in small groups, pairs or individually. Fee information specific to each year level is provided in the Domestic Fee Schedule published on this website.

A range of performance opportunities is provided throughout the year for students to showcase their developing skills. Students in Year 4 and above undertake an AMEB Speech and Drama examination or pre-exam, where experts in the field provide feedback to guide future development.
