Strings Program

St Margaret’s offers an extensive Strings Program to students. The string ensembles perform at a wide variety of events including Open Day, Classics in the Cathedral, competitions, tours and community events. They rehearse once a week (as per published Music Ensemble timetable) and perform a wide variety of repertoire.

String Ensembles
Tutti Strings (Beginner level)
Amati Strings (for approximately AMEB Grade 1-2)
Stradivari Strings (for approximately AMEB Grade 3 to 5)
Chamber Strings (for approximately AMEB Grade 6 and above)

String Quartets
Beath String Quartet (for Primary intermediate level students)
Sculthorpe String Quartet (for Secondary advanced level students)
 
As part of the Primary Music Program, students in Years 3 and 4 have the opportunity to participate in a group string lesson playing the violin, viola, cello or double bass.
