The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme is an International Award available to all students, building students' skills to equip them for life and work. The Award encourages students to get involved in their community and find their passion. By creating opportunities for young people to develop skills, get physically active, give service and experience adventure, the Award can play a critical role in their development. The Award is an exciting program that you design, based on your interests. There are four areas you can become involved in:
- Skills – anything from playing in a band, fashion design or film and video making. You decide.
- Volunteering – choose your area of interest in the community, such as youth work, the environment or charity work, to name a few.
- Adventurous Journey – journey into an unfamiliar environment with a group and challenge yourself.
- Physical Recreation – get out there and get sweating! Dancing, adventure sports, ball sports, martial arts, the list goes on.
