Students in Years 7 to 12 can audition for St Margaret's dance troupe, Ballare. The aim of the dance troupe is to provide students with an opportunity to develop their technical and performing arts skills and build friendships with students across various year levels. Weekly rehearsals are held to learn and practice routines to be performed at school events such as the MAYO Arts Festival, assemblies and the School Musical. The elected Dance Captain plays a vital leadership role in the operations of the group including marketing the troupe, communicating among team members and choregraphing dance sequences.
Involvement in dance not only develops fitness and coordination, but also teaches discipline, commitment and teamwork, while enhancing memory, posture and musical awareness.
