Ministerial Infrastructure Designation Amendment

PROPOSED MINISTERIAL INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGNATION AMMENDMENT

St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School is seeking an amendment to its existing, approved master plan, to allow the development of the St Margaret’s Arts Precinct (SMAP) and new classrooms south of Petrie Street.

The SMAP is the next stage of a long‑term master plan that will ensure St Margaret’s retains its place among Queensland’s leading schools. The school’s large number of heritage buildings have been considered when selecting the site for the SMAP.

Heritage-listed Community House will be given new life and purpose when it is reimagined within a St Margaret’s wellness centre. Two new parking facilities will take 64 parked cars off surrounding streets. The SMAP carpark will accommodate 29 cars and a loading bay, with lift access to floors above. An already-approved new staff car park will accommodate 35 vehicles on the site of the decommissioned pool.
