St Margaret's Trends in Education seminars aim to address a significant current educational topic, delivered by an expert in the area of focus. The next seminar will focus on "Being Proactive in supporting young people in the challenges they face" and will be presented by Damon Joseph from Character Builders
It's important that we, as adults, have accurate insight concerning the issues young people face today. Like any relationship, those we share with our students and children rely on an authentic connection that takes time, interest and a willingness to engage in their lived experience without pretension or judgement. This presentation will speak to the importance of this relationship and explore skills and strategies that can assist in developing a stronger, healthier relationship with the young people in our lives. It acknowledges the reality of young people's experiences in 2020, including the influence of social media, heightened anxiety, substance abuse, among other topical issues.
