St Margaret's students win national film award

Congratulations to Year 11 students Gio Kim and Catherine Jensen whose short film Listen to your Heart has won an Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) national award. The girls took out the Senior Animation category of Screen It, a national competition for student filmmakers, animators and game developers.

Their animated short film, just shy of two minutes in length, told the story of a boy who discovers a mysterious music box. When he opens the music box with the key, he finds himself in a snowy town. As the boy tries to find his way back home, he meets a giant who teaches him to “listen to his heart” in order to find his way.

The prize was moviemaking equipment for the school which will assist future students in experimenting and creating stop motion films.
