The Reverend Carlie Hannah

Graduated St Margaret's 1969

Twenty five years ago, St Margaret’s alumni Carlie Hannah (’69) was ordained priest in the Anglican Church.

The Reverend Carlie Hannah is one of the Associate Priests at the All Saints’ Anglican Parish of Newtown and Geelong West. She has been a leader in the Movement of the Ordination of Women in the Anglican Church, and one of the first women to be ordained in the Melbourne Diocese in 1983.

She has led a number of parishes, both in Australia and in New Zealand.

Carlie recently took vows for a Consecrated Celibate Life, and is particularly interested in meditative prayer and development of the spiritual life.

The Reverend Carlie became the first of many St Margaret’s Old Girls to join the ordained community.
