Dr Anna Francis is a paediatric kidney specialist and clinical researcher at Queensland Children’s Hospital.

She attended postgraduate medical school at The University of Queensland, graduating in 2007. Prior to this, she completed a medical science degree at QUT. In 2015 Dr Francis qualified as a paediatric nephrologist, having completed training in Brisbane and Sydney.

Dr Francis was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 2017, travelling to Germany, England and Harvard to explore transition programs to adult care for young kidney transplant patients.

She completed her PhD at the University of Sydney on the topic of “Long-Term Outcomes of Chronic Kidney Disease in Childhood and Adolescence”. She also has a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Sydney.

Dr Francis says her time at St Margaret’s helped foster her love of learning and the wonderful friendships that she made at school continue to enrich her life.
