At St Margaret’s 1966-1974

Annabelle was the Chair of School Council from 2011-2014 and the inaugural chair of the St Margaret’s Foundation. She attended St Margaret’s, with her two sisters, from 1966 to 1974. Her two daughters also attended the school.

An early love of economics at school, and a fascination with business in Asia developed at university, Annabelle studied and worked in Taiwan, and then lived in Hong Kong before moving into an investment banking career of 25 years in Australia.

In recent years, Annabelle has held a number of non-executive director roles across a range of industries. She is currently non-executive Chairman of MFF Capital Investments Ltd and a non-executive director of Seven Group Holdings Ltd.

Annabelle has had a long-standing interest in the fintech sector. She is chairman of Canstar Pty Ltd, a privately-owned leading digital intermediary in finance in Australia and New Zealand. She has served as a director of a number of education providers and arts companies and is currently a non-executive director of the Australian Ballet and Chair of the Audit, Risk and Investment Committee.

Annabelle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Economics and Mandarin from Griffith University in addition to a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Melbourne. Annabelle holds an honorary doctorate from Griffith University for her service to banking and finance, and to the Gold Coast community.

In 2020, Annabelle was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to business through a range of executive roles.

Married to Andrew for over three decades, with three adult children and seven cherished grandchildren, Annabelle continues to be passionate about providing opportunities for young people to thrive, and especially for young women “to fly upwards”.
