What is the Mayo Arts Festival?

The Mayo Arts Festival is a free one-day multi-arts celebration showcasing Brisbane artists and artisans and student exhibitions and performances in art, dance, drama and music.

The festival is named in honour of St Margaret’s Old Girl Daphne Mayo MBE (1908), who was a leading Australian female artist most prominently known for the sculptured tympanum above the entrance to Brisbane City Hall. The festival celebrates artistic endeavour in all its forms with a particular focus on three-dimensional art.

The festival features rides, activities, food trucks, a bar, market stalls and performances.

What to expect?

Petrie Street will be taken over with rides between 11am to 5pm including:

  • Super Flyer chairs
  • Kombi Ride
  • laser skirmish
  • animal farm (11am to 3pm)
