MAYO Arts Festival Cocktail Party

Our beloved MAYO has been reimagined this year to ensure we deliver a COVID-safe event that all members of our community can enjoy in one way, shape or form.

Friday 9 October - A "Soaring Upwards" festival (for students only)

Our musicians will perform on stage on Circular Drive in front of fellow students and staff with the event recorded and available for viewing on the POD. There will be a festival atmosphere for the students to enjoy with the popular Lob-a choc stall and lollies, chips and drinks stalls all for $2 a piece.

Friday 9 October - MAYO Gallery Preview supported by Cult Design

Set within the stunning St Margaret's Arts Centre Foyer and adjacent open-air Terrace with the twinkling lights of the cityscape as a backdrop, the MAYO Gallery Preview events are an intimate opportunity to be one of the first to purchase from an exciting exhibition of Queensland creatives and student works.

This year, to allow for social distancing measures, two preview events will be held with strictly limited numbers. Both sessions are now sold out.

Preview 1 - 5:30pm - 7:00pm - SOLD OUT

Preview 2 - 7:30pm - 9:00pm - SOLD OUT

Tickets: $10 through Flexischools and will include entry to one of the above exhibition time slots. Please note, this is purely a gallery viewing. There will be no food or drink available on the night.

If the event is cancelled due to COVID-19, all ticket holders will be refunded. Please do not attend this event if you are unwell, have COVID-19 symptoms or have been to a declared COVID-19 hotspot in the 14 days prior to the event. Refunds will be issued to ticket holders who cannot attend for any of these reasons.

Please note an approved COVID Safe Event Plan is in place for this event. In accordance with the plan, when you arrive at the event, you will need to register via EVA check-in on your smart phone and enter the school campus via Gate 1, Petrie St, only. All guests will also need to adhere to the following restrictions:

· all attendees will be required to physical distance (1.5m)

· all attendees will be required to use hand sanitiser upon entering the event

· no person should attend if they have, in the last 14 days, travelled from overseas or a COVID-19 hotspot or had close contact with a person who is positive for COVID-19, or are COVID-19 positive themselves

· no person should attend if they are or have recently experienced cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath.

St Margaret’s can refuse right of entry if anyone is displaying symptoms, or refuses to adhere to the above COVID-safe measures.

Saturday 10 October - MAYO Gallery and Community Stalls (for St Margaret's community)

The gallery will continue on the Saturday between the hours of 10am and 2pm. There will be no need to book but we are limited to the number of people we can have enter the Arts Centre Foyer and the school grounds at any given time and therefore there may be waiting periods.

There will be community market stalls operating from 10am to 2pm on Circular Drive which will include:

- Oh deer, Christmas is near stall

- book stall

- plant stall

- soaps

- takeaway gelato

Between enjoying the gallery and browsing the stalls, visitors will be able to purchase some refreshments including coffee, morning tea items, alcoholic beverages (between 12pm and 2pm only) and packaged Barambah Organics cheese boxes.

Under COVID-19 restrictions, it is a requirement to be seated while enjoying food and beverages. We will have some seating; however, you might like to purchase your food to takeaway.

Entry/ Exit

Entry on Saturday, 10 October is free.

We will be limited in the number of people we can have on site at any given time. To monitor this there will only be one entry and exit point, which will be via Gate 1, Petrie Street. This may result in a queue to enter.

· no person should attend if they are or have recently experienced cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath.

St Margaret’s can refuse right of entry if anyone is displaying symptoms, or refuses to adhere to the above COVID-safe measures.
