The St Margaret's Past Student Awards
The St Margaret’s Past Students Awards have been established to
- Recognise the many achievements of St Margaret’s Past Students, both professionally and personally
- To celebrate the diverse achievements of Past Students and provide an opportunity to share stories of success
- Increase connections between the School and Past Students to honour their legacy
Award Criteria and Eligibility
Distinguished Past Student Award - for alumnae who have celebrated their 20th reunion. Recognises significant contribution or achievements in the profession, community or volunteer work
- The nominee must be distinguished in her field(s) of endeavour – professional, community or volunteer work.
- The nominee must represent the ideals articulated in the St Margaret’s Mission Statement – to be a confident, capable, compassionate and contributing member of the community.
- The nominee must be a positive role model to current students.
- The nominee must be living and must have attended St Margaret’s in Secondary School.
- The nominee must have passed her 20th St Margaret’s Reunion year.
Young Past Student of Distinction Award - for alumnae in their 20th reunion year or younger. Recognises significant contribution or achievements in the profession, community or volunteer work
- The nominee must have made a notable contribution in her field(s) of endeavour - professional, community or volunteer work.
- The nominee must represent the ideals articulated in the St Margaret’s Mission Statement - to be a confident, capable, compassionate and contributing member of the community.
- The nominee must be a positive role model to current students.
- The nominee must be living and must have attended St Margaret’s.
- The nominee must be those celebrating their 20th reunion or younger.
- Winning this award will not preclude an alumnae from receiving the Distinguished Past Student Award in the future.
Conditions
- Nominations can be submitted online (below) or in hard copy.
- Past Students may nominate themselves or be nominated by another person.
- Nominations will be accepted from any current or past member of the St Margaret’s community.
- When nominations are received the nominee will be advised in writing of their nomination.
- The School reserves the right to disclose the identity of the nominator to the nominee.
- Personal information submitted through the nomination process will shared with the Selection Panel for the purposes of judging.
- The selection panel will consist of the School Principal, President of the Old Girls’ Association (OGA)or representative, and Chair of the Awards Committee.
- The selection panel reserves the right to select nominations to remain valid for up to two years
- The decision of the committee is final and no correspondence will be entered into. If consensus it not reached the final decision will be made by the Principal (or her nominee).
How to Nominate
- Complete the 2024 Nomination Form (online below or complete a hard copy form (PDF 590.7KB) and post/email).
- You are welcome to include an optional written statement or biography (maximum 500 words) detailing why the nominee deserves to be recognised and how they meet the criteria for the award.
- Nominations may also include supporting evidence: awards, media clippings, electronic media footage, etc. (maximum of 3 attachments).
- Any incomplete nominations or nominations submitted after the deadline will not be considered. Nominations are to be forwarded electronically or in hard copy.
- Completed nominations must be received by 5pm (AEST) Friday 10 November 2023.
