Enhancing Excellence

St Margaret’s Enhancing Excellence Campaign is intended to run for five years from 2016 to 2020 and will include a capital campaign for a future Aquatic Centre and our year-long annual giving campaigns devoted to classroom and campus refurbishment and upgrade.

In 2016, with the launch of the Enhancing Excellence Campaign, we asked our community to “Imagine” what we could do if we all worked together to provide the girls with the following learning and recreational spaces.

With assistance from community donations and contributions from the P&F Association, the Avoca Café Deck  and landscaping has been completed and now being enjoyed by the community. We still need significant community support to commence the remaining two projects in the Enhancing Excellence Campaign - the  Atelier* - Primary “Tinker” Space and the Collaborative 120 Seat Lecture Theatre.

*Atelier - a workshop or studio, used by an artist or designer
From paper craft to 3D printing, in this space small hands will combine with youthful imagination to invent and construct, cultivating our students’ creativity, social-emotional capacity, innovative thinking, problem solving, skilled communication and design thinking. The Atelier will honour the innate curiosity of our young learners through real-life experiences in food technology, tinkering, design, robotics, environmental studies, media studies, science, and materials technology

From the boarders’ gate right through to the ‘Pixie Hut’, this landscaping and building project has provided much needed green space, outdoor seating and meeting spaces. The Café Deck, which articulates with the commercial kitchen, has enable a student-led café - M's Cafe - and many other real-world hospitality opportunities.

The current business rooms in Jackson will be ‘reimagined’ into a large ‘lectorial’ space with the flexibility to enable team teaching, lecture style presentations and group work – all in one lesson. It is these changes to the physical environment such as a clever combination of fixed and swivel seating, tiered levels and advanced technology fit-out that can foster a true 21st century learning environment.
