The St Margaret's Anglican Girls School musical featured students that love to sing, dance or act. Held over three nights, 29 April - 1 May, the girls performed the infamous "Beauty and the Beast" which offered students involved a great opportunity to make new friends, showcase their talent and be apart of a Maggies tradition.

Musicals are held biannually and are well known throughout the School Community as one of many traditions upheld by the School.

Students attended many practices during the school holidays and Sundays throughout the Term with girls learning lines and singing notes eagerly.

This showcase of the Arts also featured two surprise guests, one being the School Principal, Dr Sue Simon and a student from St Joseph's College Gregory Terrace, who played the part of the Beast after the transformation. Year 9 student, Anna Fryer, played the lead as Belle and Justine Hyu entertained audiences as Garçon. All members of the talented cast performed fantastically on all three nights. If there were any nerves they were not noticed from the audience.

Many girls got involved with the musical and not only singing and acting, but with set design and being in the orchestra.

The final night of the Maggies musical was a sell out, with only a few seats available on the other two nights.

All teachers and students involved enjoyed creating this amazing stage production, with everyone putting in a lot of effort.

Music teacher, Miss Fullwood, who was heavily involved in the production said, "The girls were fantastic and I hope they have found the experience enjoyable and rewarding".

‘Beauty and the Beast' was an extraordinary musical that showcased all the hard work that students and teachers at St Margaret's put into the Arts. This was not a high school musical to missed.
