Teaching and Learning

St Margaret's School

Nurturing my natural flair and passion for the sciences, St Margaret’s provided me with the opportunity to explore many avenues which ultimately led me to my ideal degree, a Bachelor of Advanced Science majoring in Medicine.

In meeting the aims of the School Strategic Plan, St Margaret’s offers a broad, balanced and flexible curriculum that enables each student to fulfil her potential now and in the future.

Students have been consistently successful in gaining entrance to tertiary institutions and further training opportunities. The development of critical thinking skills and using appropriate learning technologies within the classroom are integral components of the school curriculum. A seamless, integrated curriculum from Preparatory through to Year 12 is sustained through the delivery of curriculum experiences underpinned by developmental philosophy. That is, students are at the centre of the learning process with the focus on maximising the potential of each individual student.

All parents receive a comprehensive progress report for each semester and Parent-Teacher interviews are conducted during the year. Learning Support, Enrichment and English as a Second Language (ESL) Support is available to develop student potential.

The curriculum at St Margaret’s is designed to challenge and engage students by utilising their different learning styles and by focusing on the student as an individual.
